Ageing Photographs
Ageing a photograph is a technique used to made a modern photo
appear to be old. A photograph of a person in period dress, such
as a Civil War reenactor; or a photograph of an old car or
home place make good submissions for this technique.
Sample 1 Distressed with
Scanned Effect Border
 
This photograph was changed to a brown tone and a frame was
added leaving the effect of having been scanned. The scanned
effect also allows it to be put in a frame or mat board, and the
aged border on it still show. The photo was then distressed.
Sample 2 Distressed
with Antique Border
 
This photograph was cropped, changed to a brown tone, and an
antique border was added. It was then distressed.
